Adani Stock Becomes 8th Most Valuable Firm First To Beat The Big Boys Of D-Street

Shares were just off their 52-week high 2,951.90 each, which was recorded on April 12, when the company announced its operating data, under which it reported strong growth across all verticals.

In just three days of this week’s trading session, Adani Green shares have climbed nearly 27% on the mentioned exchange. Whereas so far this April, the shares have gained more than 52 percent. In one year, the shares have emerged as a multi-bagger, rising over 165%. Adani Green’s shares were at a low on April 13 last year 1113.35 each.

The company has announced its operating data for the fourth quarter ending March 2022 (Q4FY22).

In Q4FY22, the company’s total operating capacity grew by 56% year-on-year to 5,410 MW. In the quarter, energy sales registered a growth of 84 per cent to 2,971 million units as against 1,614 units in the corresponding quarter last year – supported by strong performance in both solar and wind departments.

Meanwhile, in the quarter under review, the company’s solar portfolio CUF stood at 26.4%, improving 210 basis points year-on-year, supported by 100% plant availability. Whereas, wind portfolio CUF stood at 23.6% in Q4FY22, improving by 140 basis points, supported by 98% plant availability.

Adani Green today surpassed the market cap of NBFC-giants Bajaj Finance and HDFC, which are now ranked ninth and tenth among the top 10 most valuable companies.

Adani Green’s market cap remained at closing price 4,48,050.99 crore is ranked eighth on the BSE, overtaking Bajaj Finance and HDFC, whose market capitalization stands 4,43,685.79 crore and 4,31,028.49 crores respectively.

On BSE, Adani Green is running towards SBI which is currently ranked seventh among the top market capitalized companies. The market cap of SBI is 4,61,848.65 crore at today’s closing price. What is the difference between the market valuation of Adani Green and SBI? 13,797.66 crores.

Earlier this week, Adani Green had overtaken Bharti Airtel to take the tenth position. However, with Bajaj Finance and HDFC coming down the top market capitalization list, Bharti Airtel is now the 11th most valuable company by market cap. 4,06,794.46 crores.

Reliance Industries (RIL) continues to be the leader in terms of most capitalized company by market cap TCS and HDFC Bank are ranked with a market valuation of Rs 17,26,714.05 crore 13,39,688.48 crore and 8,12,338.57 crores. Infosys ( 7,35,611.35 crore) stood fourth, while ICICI Bank ( 5,29,739.59 crore) in fifth place, and Hindustan Unilever ( 5,05,737.77 crore) is ranked sixth on the BSE.

The vigorous rally in Adani Green has also increased the net worth of Gautam Adani. Adani now ranks sixth in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a net worth of $118 billion as of April 13. So far this year, Gautam’s wealth has increased by $ 41.1 billion. Gautam is now richer than search engine giants, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who are ranked 7th and 8th with net worth of $115 billion and $110 billion, respectively.

RIL chief Mukesh Ambani held the title of the richest man in India and Asia for a few years, until Adani had the title under his belt. Ambani is ranked 11th in the list of billionaires with a net worth of $95.2 billion.

Adani Green is a hot stock in the green energy sector. In the latest development, Abu Dhabi-based international holding company PJSC (IHC) will invest $500 million in AGEL as primary capital.

In addition, Adani Green has raised a manufacturing facility worth $288 million, increasing the manufacturing revolver pool to $1.64 billion. In addition, the company has achieved single-use-plastic-free status for 100% of its operational capacity, ahead of the targeted 65% by the end of FY22. In Q4FY22, the company has also won the ‘Golden Peacock Award for Sustainability’ for the year 2021 in the renewable energy category.

Established in January 2015, Adani Green currently manages 5,290 MW of wind power and solar power plants including 46 operational projects in 11 states of India. The company also operates the Kamuthi Solar Power Project, one of the largest solar photovoltaic plants in the world.
