After double digit growth in ‘best year ever’, Mercedes-Benz to launch 10 models in India in 2023

New Delhi: German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz will launch 10 new vehicles in India this year as it eyes double-digit growth again in 2023, said the company’s newly-appointed Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, Santosh Iyer. said at a press conference in Delhi.

The announcement comes on the back of the carmaker deliver A record number of 15,822 cars will be sold in India in 2022, an increase of about 41 percent from 11,242 units sold in 2021.

“The year 2022 has been our ‘best year ever’ on the back of new products and best production year ever despite continued supply constraints…. Key models driving growth in 2022 include the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class Limousine and the GLA, GLC, GLE and GLS SUVs. ,

He informed that the top end vehicles segment in Mercedes Benz saw the highest growth of 69 per cent in India in 2022. The company sold over 3,500 cars last year, which cost more than Rs 1 crore.

Mercedes-Benz India on Friday also launched its ‘AMG E53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet’ model, with prices starting from Rs 1.3 crore.

Iyer said the sales share of the company’s top-end vehicles (TEVs) has increased from 12 per cent to 22 per cent in 2018. He added that expansion of TEV base is an important part of this year’s strategy.

Furthermore, he added that Mercedes-Benz India aims to become a paperless organization in 2023 and is focusing on reducing its water consumption and waste generation by 19 per cent as compared to 2021.

“The Mercedes-Benz India plant continues its green achievement and runs on 100 per cent green energy from 2022. As a part of the sustainable mission, by the end of 2023 more than 1/3 of Mercedes-Benz franchise partners will be operating on green energy,” he added.
