AIIMS Delhi away from appointments; No more waiting for X-ray read here

In a big relief, people visiting All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi can now get their X-ray done without any appointment and will get the film soon thereafter.

Earlier, patients would have to first make an appointment after the doctor recommends an X-ray and then come to the hospital for examination on the day of appointment, Dr Deep N Srivastava, head of the radio-diagnosis department at AIIMS, was quoted as saying by the news agency. was said PTI.

Patients have to come again for consultation in OPD. X-rays are done in AIIMS from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm.

Dr. Srivastava said, “With this new step, patients can go straight to the OPD and do X-rays and take a film immediately thereafter. This will reduce their discomfort and frequent visits to hospitals. Will happen.”

This comes days after the period of sample collection for clinical trials at the facility was extended to facilitate patients in line with the government’s efforts to improve patient service at the premier hospital.

“The next step will be for ultrasound and other radiological investigations, which will reduce the waiting time. This will be done soon,” Dr Srivastava said without giving any further details.

These changes in patient service are being implemented after Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently constituted a committee to evaluate the existing infrastructure and suggest changes to improve inpatient OPD services at AIIMS.

Dr. Srivastava said in a communication to Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS, “You will be happy to know that with the cooperation of all the staff of the department, we are not waiting for plain X-rays for both OPD and indoor patients.” on 27 September.

“The hard copy of the films will be issued to the patients after the X-ray is done at the same time and the report will be available on their UHID number within 24 hours,” the statement said.
