Air India New York-Delhi flight diverted to London due to medical emergency

An Air India flight going from New York to Delhi was diverted to London on Monday due to a medical emergency. An officer gave this information.

According to data available on flight tracking website Flightradar24, the flight is being operated by a Boeing 777-337 (ER) aircraft.

Due to a medical emergency on board, the flight was diverted to London and the concerned passenger was taken to the hospital, the official said.

According to another official, the flight later took off from London at around 9.30 pm (IST).

Details about the medical emergency could not be immediately known.

According to the pilot of a wide-body aircraft, the flight is likely to be delayed for at least 6-7 hours before landing in Delhi.
