Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit appointed as new Vice Chief of Air Staff

Ace fighter pilot Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit has been appointed as the new Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, who will be in charge of modernization of the force and oversee new procurement in the Indian Air Force.

According to a report published by ANI, at present, the Indian Air Force is looking at major acquisitions including induction of new fighter aircraft like LCA Mark 1A, LCA Mark 2 and advanced medium combat aircraft from the domestic industry.

He was earlier posted as the Senior Air Force Officer at the South Western Air Command in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Commissioned in the Indian Air Force in 1986, Dikshit has been part of the modernization and Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign in the Indian Air Force during his earlier tenure at Air Headquarters.
