Coimbatore: alstomA Global Company for Green Mobility Solutions, Inaugurates its New Components manufacturing facility With an average investment of 25 million Euros in Coimbatore.
It is Alstom’s largest manufacturing facility in Asia spread over 15 acres dedicated to improving industrial efficiency in manufacturing components for various national and international projects. It is expected to create 10,000 direct and indirect Jobs,
The site has taken several sustainability measures such as – targeting 80% of regular activities run on green energy, 100% use of natural light during day time, rainwater harvesting and 100% re-use of sewage treated water.
“French companies are fully committed to ‘Make in India’ and are building on the strong bilateral ties between the two countries,” said Emmanuel Lennon, Ambassador of France to India. He said it is heartening to see India’s manufacturing prowess powering global dynamism.
Alstom’s industrial presence in Coimbatore has grown into three sites since 1978. “Our presence in Coimbatore dates back to the 1970s and has grown manifold since then,” said Ellen Spohar, Managing Director, Alstom India. He said that the inauguration of this facility is a testimony of our commitment towards the government’s flagship ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
