The Supreme Court of India has directed the authorities to provide a high level of security to businessman Mukesh Ambani and his family members throughout India and abroad. The Ambanis will now be covered under the highest level of Z+ security – which details 55 personnel including over 10 NSG commandos and police officers.
The top court said that the entire cost of providing the highest level of Z+ security within India or abroad would be borne by the family.
Late last year, the Home Ministry had upgraded Mukesh Ambani’s security from Z to Z+ category following intelligence inputs about threat perception. They carry sub-machine guns and modern communication equipment and are trained in martial arts and unarmed combat.
