American man lost 165 kg, doctor told ‘ticking time bomb’

A man in the US state of Mississippi lost more than 365 pounds (about 165 kg) in four years after a doctor told him he was a “ticking time bomb” and would not live long. He used to weigh around 300 kgs and with the motivation to live longer he had lost a lot of weight WDAM 7,

Nicholas Craft started his weight loss journey in 2019 when he lost around 18 kilos in the first month of dieting. talking to fox news digitalThe 42-year-old shared that he struggled with his weight since childhood and “weighed 300 pounds (136 kg) in high school”.

“Depression caused me to overeat, and I couldn’t get as much as I wanted,” Mr Kraft said. According to him, his condition caused body aches, knee pain and shortness of breath, while he “could not move in regular vehicles”. Mr. Kraft shared that he has stopped traveling and attending family events because of his weight.

In 2019, a doctor told Mr Kraft that he was a “ticking time bomb”, given his condition.

“The doctor told me that if I didn’t do something about my weight issue, I was going to die in between three and five years,” he said. WDAM 7, That’s when Mr. Kraft decided to make a change.

Nicholas Kraft told Fox News Digital that he wanted to live longer and decided to change his eating habits. Mr. Kraft did not follow any special weight loss diet but instead focused on his caloric intake and gave up junk food. “When I first started my calorie intake was 1,200 to 1,500 calories per day”.

Mr. Kraft insisted that it was his grandmother who encouraged him to lose weight. She said she wanted to see him more often and “I promised him I would lose weight so I could see him more”. However, Mr. Kraft’s grandmother died before he could make the weight.

After undergoing the transformation, Mr Kraft said his breathing had improved and he no longer had trouble traveling.
