Chatra: In view of the apprehension of increase in the cases of Omicron type of corona virus, umbrella The administration has prepared 515 COVID-19 beds and asked doctors, paramedical staff and other health workers to be alert while on duty.
Out of the total beds, 119 are oxygen supported, 25 are ICU beds while 20 beds are reserved for Pediatric ICU cases. Health officials said 17 ventilators are also available.
In addition, health workers have been instructed to vaccinate between 2,000 and 3,000 people every day to increase the vaccination numbers.
District Epidemiological Officer Ashutosh Kumar said: “All the health facilities available in the district are being assessed to deal with any serious situation and upgrade as per the requirement. Those coming from abroad are being kept in mandatory home quarantine for a week and they are being RT-PCR tested.
He said that oxygen plants have been prepared at Chatra Sadar Hospital and government hospitals of Tandwa and Hunterganj.
Kumar said that as a precaution, they are also tracing those coming from other states so that the infected can be identified. Even the 24/7 control room has started functioning in the district, with magistrates appointed in three shifts to take calls.
