Andhra Pradesh cabinet: 25 ministers take oath in Amaravati

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today reconstituted the state cabinet, inducting 13 fresh faces and re-inducting 11 from his first team. At least seven of the state’s 26 districts did not get any representation in the new cabinet. The ruling YSR Congress described it as a “social cabinet” with 70 per cent representation from BC, SC, ST and minority communities. The CM had made the announcement when he formed his first cabinet in June 2019.

Amjath Basha Sheikh Bepari and K Narayana Swamy, who had served as deputy chief ministers in the previous cabinet, have been inducted again. Seniors like Botsa Satyanarayana, PRC Reddy, P Vishwaroop, A Suresh and Bugna Rajendranath also secured new positions. S Appala Raju, Ch Venugopal Krishna, G Jayaram and T Vanitha got second chance due to caste count. Film star RK Roja, who completed his second term as an MLA, finally made it to the cabinet.

Ambati Rambabu, another senior leader who got off the bus in 2019, also handled it this time. Gudivada Amarnath, P Rajanna Dora, B Mutyala Naidu, Dadisetty Ramalingeswara Rao, KV Nageswara Rao, K Satyanarayana, J Ramesh, V Rajani, M Nagarjuna, K Govardhan Reddy and Usha Sricharan became the new ministers.
