Dehradun: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday promised that a free pilgrimage scheme for people from different communities would be launched in Uttarakhand if the Aam Aadmi Party came to power in the state.

Under this plan, Hindus will be taken to Ayodhya, Muslims to Ajmer Sharif and Sikhs to Kartarpur Sahib, Kejriwal announced at a press conference in Haridwar.

AAP’s national convener said, “We launched a free pilgrimage scheme for the elderly in Delhi, under which they are taken free of cost in AC trains to 12 pilgrimage sites across the country including Haridwar, Rishikesh, Vaishno Devi and Puri. Is.” ,

He said that 36,000 people have already taken advantage of the scheme under which people are selected for pilgrims every year.

Kejriwal said the idea of adding Ayodhya to the list of destinations under the free pilgrimage scheme came to him when he recently visited the city to pay homage to Ram Lalla. He said, “I want to give all my elders the experience of going on a free pilgrimage to Ayodhya ji and having darshan of Ram Lalla.”

Kejriwal said he was happy to announce that a train would start from Delhi on December 3 to take people to Ayodhya free of cost.

“If we come to power in the state, a similar free pilgrimage scheme will be started for the people of Uttarakhand on the lines of Delhi,” Kejriwal said.

“Under the plan, Hindus will be taken to Ayodhya, while there will be a provision for Muslims to be taken to Ajmer Sharif and Sikhs to Kartarpur Sahib, which was opened recently,” the AAP leader said.

Kejriwal said that AAP is the first party in the country to pay attention to the problems of the common man.

“Our emphasis is on good hospitals, good schools, good roads, clean drinking water and employment opportunities. Now we will also give free pilgrimage to the people. This shows that our focus is on the common people.”

He said that the Aam Aadmi Party is for the common people.

He asked how many political parties today talk about good hospitals and good schools.

Claiming that his party changed Delhi when people gave him a chance, Kejriwal asked AAP just one chance to serve Uttarakhand.

“When we were given the opportunity, we completely changed Delhi. Give us just one chance in Uttarakhand. You will forget about all the political parties,” he said.

Kejriwal also held a meeting with autorickshaw drivers in Haridwar and promised that their problems would be resolved in Delhi if the AAP government was formed in the state.

“I will act like your elder brother. Your problems are now my responsibility,” he said, adding that autorickshaw drivers in Haridwar struggle on a daily basis to meet their needs.

He said that the auto rickshaw drivers of Delhi are fans of AAP and they played an important role in its victory.

Kejriwal has been promising freebies to the people of Uttarakhand, where elections are due early next year.

During his first visit to the state, he had promised free electricity for farmers and up to 300 units of free electricity per household.

Later, along with AAP’s chief ministerial candidate for Uttarakhand Col (retd) Ajay Kothiyal and other party leaders, Kejriwal also held a roadshow from Ranipur Mor to Ashram Chowk in Haridwar and greeted the crowd. People were also seen standing on their terraces and balconies, shaking the AAP leader’s hand.
