Australian all-rounder Cameron Green is going through perhaps the toughest phase of his cricketing life as a batsman. Ashes Series, Green has managed to score only two runs in the two innings in which he has got a chance to bat. Highly rated by experts in the domestic circuit and as a potential all-round option for Australia for the foreseeable future, Green has failed to live up to the expectations in international cricket so far with both bat and ball. The bowling has provided Greene some respite with four wickets in the series so far. Green’s high-arm action and a high release point have troubled the batsmen in this series. This could be one of the reasons why former England captain Michael Vaughan compared Green’s bowling to his former teammate Andrew Flintoff.

“Cam Greene reminds me of young Freddie Flintoff with the ball!! #Ashes,” Vaughan tweeted on Saturday.

Green’s poor performance with the bat hasn’t had much impact on Australia’s dominance in the current series.

After winning the opening Test by nine wickets at the Gabba in Brisbane, Australia got off to a strong start in the second Test in Adelaide as they declared their first innings at 473/9.

The home team’s batting flourished under captain Steve Smith as he combined with Marnus Labuschagne and David Warner to score heavy runs to propel the team forward.

England’s hopes of leveling the series suffered a major setback after the early dismissals of Joe Root and David Malan in the second session on the third day of the ongoing Test.
