Ashneer Grover became a household name after appearing in Shark Tank India season one. His simple answers to the pichkaris caught everyone’s attention.
Although Ashneer Grover is not a part of Shark Tank India Season 2, he has been making headlines for all different reasons. Now, in a recent interview, the entrepreneur has shared an incident, describing what happened when he approached Virat Kohli for the brand ambassador and why he decided to decline the deal. Grover revealed that even though he was getting Virat and his actress-wife Anushka Sharma For both the brands, they decided to go for the 11 other cricket players on which Kohli was available.
Ashneer shared that he was discussing an IPL deal with some brokers when he wanted to advertise his brand on the back of the players’ jerseys. However, the broker suggested that Grover should be listed instead of Kohli.
“Kohli asked for an amount, which I will not reveal here, he would mind. He also offered Anushka as a package deal, and I said I don’t want to repeat what Manyavar has already done. So, I asked him if he could get me another 11 players for half of Kohli’s demand. And that’s the deal I finally did,” Ashner Grover said in the Wagera Wagera podcast as quoted by the Indian Express.
“I don’t have a single photo with any of them, I didn’t even go to the shoot. I have a picture of me talking to Kohli recently. And I was telling him about this story. They said this is a very good business, ”said the entrepreneur.
Earlier, in another interview, Grover recalled another incident when he tried to negotiate with Salman Khan’s team to pitch him as the brand ambassador for one of his entrepreneurial ventures. Grover admitted that even though he wanted to onboard Salman, he did not want to spend a lot of money on him.
Ashneer Grover became a household name after appearing in Shark Tank India season one. His one-liners and direct replies to the pitchers grabbed everyone’s attention. However, the entrepreneur is not a part of the second season of the show. He has been replaced by CarDekho co-founder Amit Jain.
