At least 1 dose of Kovid vaccine given in 2 crore Odisha. Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

Bhubaneswar: Orissa On Friday, the state crossed the milestone of providing at least one dose of anti-Covid vaccine to two crore people of the state’s population of 4.68 crore.
By evening a total of 2,00,58,425 people had received at least the first dose. This has taken the number of doses including the first and second administered so far to 2,69,71,752.
However, coverage of the second dose is low with only over 69 lakh people fully immunized in the state so far. Government health officials said many people seem to have forgotten their due dates, resulting in low turnout at session venues for booster shots.
In addition, some cases may not be interested in getting booster shots because of the let-up, he said.
Bijay Panigrahi, Director, Department of Family Welfare said, “As far as the first dose is concerned, the vaccination drive is going well. On Friday, around 2.10 lakh people received the jab at 1,606 sites across the state. But it seems people have a tendency to miss the second shot. We are alerting them by sending reminder messages on their cell phones. Of those whose second dose is due, about 29% have not yet received it.
