After a long drought on the box office numbers in Bollywood, Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is here to sigh of relief! The film has received a great response from the audience and its impact has also been seen at the box office. Starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in lead roles, Bhool Bhulaiyaa releases in theaters on Friday, May 20. As per initial estimates, the film earned Rs 13.75 to Rs 14.75 crore on its opening day. Trade analysts had already predicted a double digit opening for this horror comedy.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Box Office Collection
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 received good reviews from fans and critics. After months of silence, a Hindi film has opened to a great box office. According to Box Office India, it had 20 per cent engagement in the morning shows, which ended at 50 per cent in the night. Therefore, the average total occupancy throughout the day was 35 percent. The film has achieved these figures even with low ticket rates.
According to trade analyst Komal Nahta, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 had more numbers in national multiplex chains than SS Rajamouli’s RRR on its first day of release. The film sold around 8.50 lakh tickets on the first day, which is similar to the March 2022 release, RRR. Komal Nahta tweeted, “‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ has more footfalls in national multiplex chains today than ‘RRR’ (Hindi) on Day 1! ‘RRR’ (Hindi) earns approx Rs 8.25 cr in multiplexes of national chains of, but ‘BB 2’ can make around Rs 7.5 cr. Only 10% less on collections.. at 25% lower ticket rates (sic)!

The first part of the film starred Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in lead roles and was a huge hit. Initially set for release on July 31, 2020, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
