“Six questions in the question paper of 12th board exam for political science were related to Congress, in which an unsuccessful attempt was made to glorify the party,” he said. The BJP demanded the suspension of the question paper setter, alleging politicization of educational institutions.

Poonia said the questions included “the general election of 1971 proved to be an election for the re-establishment of the Congress. Explain this statement” and “who gave the slogan of Garibi Hatao”.

Others were “Discuss briefly the Congress as a social and ideological alliance”, “How many seats did the Congress win in the 1984 Lok Sabha elections”, “Which party dominated the first three general elections in India” and “Under what circumstances Congress contested the 1967 general elections in India and what mandate did it get”, the Rajasthan BJP chief said.

“Congress should tell who imposed emergency in the country, who misused Article 356 more than 100 times, who were guilty of 1984 anti-Sikh riots,” he said.

Poonia alleged, “It is the same Congress which calls Akbar great but does not glorify the greatness of Maharana Pratap.”

A question related to the Communist Party was also asked – “On what basis the CPI was divided”. Another question was “who was the founder of BSP”, the BJP said.

Responding to the allegation, state education minister BD Kalla said the questions were not selected by the government.

“The board is an autonomous body. The identity of the expert who set the paper is kept confidential,” he said.

It is unfortunate of BJP MLA and spokesperson Ram Lal Sharma that the state government is working to teach the history of Congress to the children.

He said, “BJP demands that any institution head or teacher who framed such questions should be immediately suspended.
