BJP’s priority is only development, not vote bank: PM Modi in Karnataka

Addressing a gathering in poll-bound Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday made it clear that the BJP government’s priority is not vote banks, but “development, development and more development”.

Modi Said that the development of the country cannot happen until even a single district remains behind in development. He said that we have encouraged those developmental activities which were declared backward by the previous governments.

This is the second visit of the Prime Minister to election-bound Karnataka this month. He was in Hubballi on January 12 to inaugurate the National Youth Festival, during which he did a massive road show. The visit assumes significance as the ruling BJP is gearing up for the May assembly elections in Karnataka and has set a target of winning at least 150 of the total 224 seats.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Said in Yadgiri on Thursday that water security is essential for the development of 21st century India. “When we came to power, only 3 crore rural households in the country had tap water connections. Today, 11 crore rural households have tap water connection,” PM Modi said at an event in poll-bound Karnataka.

on Thursday Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launched ‘Hakku Patra’ (land title deeds) distribution drive to over 52,000 nomadic Lambani tribes in five districts of northern Karnataka.

The Prime Minister was addressing a gathering at Kodekal after laying the foundation stone and inaugurating various developmental projects related to irrigation, drinking water besides a National Highway Development Project.

Assembly elections are due in 2023 in the state of Karnataka.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said, ‘Double engine government means double welfare. You can see how Karnataka is benefiting from this.”

In this program PM Modi also said that the next 25 years are going to be ‘Amrit Kaal’ for every citizen and the state. He said that the citizens and the government have to make India towards a developed nation during this period.

The PM said, “India can develop when there are good crops in the fields and industries also expand.”

Targeting the Congress without naming it, Modi said the previous governments shied away from their responsibility by declaring Yadgiri and surrounding areas in north Karnataka as backward.

“Our government’s priority is not vote bank, our priority is development.” Referring to the double engine government (BJP government at the Center and in the state), Modi said, “It means double welfare. You can see how Karnataka is benefiting from it.”
