Case against Maharashtra teacher for molesting Class 5 student: Police

Chandrapur:

A case has been registered against the headmaster of a Zilla Parishad school in a village in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district for allegedly molesting a class V student. The police gave this information on Tuesday.

A police officer said the accused allegedly carried out the incident inside a classroom on the first day of reopening of schools on Monday after sending other students out, some students witnessed the incident.

When the victim girl informed her family members about the incident after returning home, the police was informed.

As the news spread, a group of people gathered outside the school to confront the headmaster, however, the police dispersed them.

A case was registered against the accused headmaster under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
