Center invites applications for CCI chief post: Last date, other details here

The Central Government on Thursday invited applications for the post of Chairman, Competition Commission of India (CCI). The post is lying vacant since October 25. Applications can be submitted till March 9.

Ministry of Corporate Affairs has released a public notice regarding the application of CCI Head, according to which, applicants should have at least 15 years of experience in International Trade, Economics, Business, Commerce, Law Finance, Accounts, Management, Industry, Public Sector Must have professional experience. cases or contest cases.

If selected, the person can hold the office for a term of five years from the date of joining the office or till the age of 65 years. Monthly Salary of selected candidates for the post of CCI Head Will happen 4.50 lakhs.

The notice states, “Candidates who had invited applications for the post of Chairman in response to the previous advertisement/vacancy circular dated 26 July 2022 need not apply.”

The application form can be downloaded from the websites of Ministry of Corporate Affairs—mca.gov.in, Competition Commission of India—cci.gov.in, and Department of Personnel and Training—persmin.nic.in. .In.

It is also stated that the incomplete applications received after the due date will be rejected, therefore, the ministry has suggested the applicants to submit the application form before the due date.

The notice states that the selected candidate will have to assume the charge of CCI chief within one month from the issue of the offer of appointment.

Sangeeta Verma, who is a CCI member, has been the acting president since October last year. His tenure was recently extended by the central government for three months.

The ministry had last month invited applications for the post of three members in the CCI. At present, the position of one member is vacant and two existing members are due to retire at the end of this year.

CCI monitors anti-competitive practices in the market across all sectors and also works towards promoting fair trade practices.
