Sanjay Raut had alleged two days back that Shrikant Shinde, who represents Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency, had given a contract to a Thane-based criminal to attack him.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s son and MP Shrikant Shinde on Thursday rejected Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut’s allegations that a conspiracy was being hatched to target him.

Raut had two days ago alleged that Shrikant Shinde, who represents Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency, had given a contract to a Thane-based criminal to attack him.

Speaking to the media at Ambernath in the district, Shinde said Raut was suffering from schizophrenia and his allegations were baseless.

The state desperately needed him as a “source of entertainment”, Shinde added sarcastically.
