After the stupendous success of its first season, Voot Select is all set to premiere the much-awaited sequel to the popular thriller series ‘Code M’ on its platform. By unveiling the suspenseful trailer for the upcoming season of the series, the platform assures the audience of an action packed investigative thriller in which Major Monica Mehra is once again at the center of all mysteries.
The plot of ‘Code M – Season 2’ follows a fearless Monica Mehra as she is tasked with investigating a case related to a vigilante organization, the corrupt individuals behind the gruesome murders of several Indian Army officers. hunts and kills them. However, with several unsuccessful attempts to end the investigation, Monica learns that the key to all mysteries lies in her past, which has been haunting her since childhood!
Lead actress Jennifer Winget will be seen reviving her character in the much-awaited season two of ‘Code M’. Along with Jennifer, Tanuj Virwani and Swanand Kirkire will also be seen in important roles in ‘Code M-Season 2’. Helmed by Akshay Choubey, presented by Jio Studios, produced by Ekta R Kapoor, produced by Jio Studios and Juggernaut Productions, the eight-episodic series with story and screenplay by Anirudh Guha, dialogues by Aparna Nadig and additional screenplay by Niharika Puri, will see the film. Major Monica Mehra works hard to investigate a new case on a life-changing mission.
Talking about reviving her character in ‘Code M – Season 2’, Jennifer Winget expressed, “Code M was my OTT debut in 2020 and the first season was so well received, that the sequel There were no two ways to return for. With the paucity and variety of content across all platforms, there aren’t too many shows where actresses get to play the protagonists. And above all, Code M revolves around the Indian Army. So, I am thrilled that I get to play the brave and badass Major Monica Mehra once again. The upcoming season is based on Monica’s journey after separating from her husband. Assigned to the Kargil Day celebrations , Monica must pursue a killer. During her quest to catch the culprit, a chain of events unfolds, which forms the core of the plot.”
Commenting on his character in ‘Code M – Season 2’, Tanuj Virwani said, “It was great to be a part of the second season of Code M, where I play the role of Angad Sandhu, a retired army officer. The character is sensitive. What is more powerful, it has its own nuances, which makes it really fulfilling for me as an actor. I got an up-close glimpse of the life of the army, the dynamics of their relationships, their families, sacrifices, bravery and much more. Above all warrior heart. I consider it to be one of the best experiences of my career.”
