As per the index mentioned in the syllabus, the UGC has divided the curriculum into four main categories – Communication Skills, Business Skills, Leadership and Management Skills and Universal Human Values. The first category will deal with verbal and non-verbal aspects of learning, including digital literacy and ethics centered around social media and cyber security.

Business skills students will need to create a resume, participate in interviews, group discussions, brainstorming, and training in etiquette. Leadership and Management, as the name suggests, will deal with leadership and managerial skills and will also help students imbibe entrepreneurial skills and ethics. Last but not least are the universal human values that one would talk about such things as peace, truth, love and compassion, non-violence, constitutional values and righteousness. All students will be given a score out of 8, with 2 credits in each category.

The aim of the course is to shape the minds of young students according to the demanding situation they face in their lives at any stage of their life, be it professional, personal or social. In addition, the curriculum will help students to explore and use tools of communication beyond language.

The central body claims that the program will act as a fuel for empowerment of young, malleable minds and train them for myriad situations in their personal, social and professional lives. In the draft syllabus released by the UGC, the statutory body has defined life skills as “personal competencies that help an individual to deal effectively with the challenges of life, lead a satisfying and successful life, and This is how one realizes the infinite potential. A human being.”
