New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in the 85th episode of his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ today. This is the first edition of their monthly radio program of the year.

PM Modi urged citizens to visit the National War Memorial and get rid of corruption among other things.

Earlier, the Prime Minister had urged citizens to share their views for this edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

“On 30th of this month, the first #MannKiBaat of 2022 will happen. I am sure you have a lot to share in terms of inspiring life stories and themes. Share them on @mygovindia or NaMo app. By dialing Record your message. 1800-11-7800,” tweeted PM Modi.

Here’s a look at the highlights of PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat:

  • More than 10 million children have narrated their ‘Mann Ki Baat’ to me through postcards from across the country and the world. I have read many of them. The thinking of today’s people is important for the future of India.
  • Padma awards have also been announced in the country. There are many such names among the recipients of Padma awards, about which very few people know. These are the unsung heroes of our country, who have done extraordinary things under normal circumstances.
  • Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award: This award should be given to those children who have done bold and inspirational work at a young age.
  • The names of all the heroes of the country who have been martyred since independence are inscribed in the ‘National War Memorial’. Some ex-servicemen of the army have written to me saying that the ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ being lit in front of the memory of the martyrs is a symbol of the immortality of the martyrs.
  • Truly like ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ our martyrs are also a source of inspiration and their contribution is also immortal. I would ask all of you to visit the ‘National War Memorial’ whenever you get a chance. With these efforts, the country is re-establishing its national symbols. We saw that the ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ near India Gate and the Jyoti lit at the ‘National War Memorial’ were merged. Tears came to the eyes of many countrymen and families of those who lost their lives for the country on this emotional occasion.
  • Several security forces personnel wrote to me appreciating the move to merge the Amar Jawan Jyoti flame into the National War Memorial.
  • Where duty is felt, duty is paramount, corruption cannot even think of entering there.
  • Friends, the enthusiasm of India’s elixir of freedom is not limited to our country. I have also received 75 postcards from Croatia, a friendly country of India.
  • My dear countrymen, India has been a holy land of education and knowledge. We have not confined education to bookish knowledge, but have seen it as a holistic experience of life.
  • My dear countrymen, love for nature and compassion for every living being, this is our culture as well as natural nature.
  • When sincere effort is made, good intention is done, results come too!
  • Friends, the diverse colors and spiritual power of Indian culture has always attracted people from all over the world.
  • Our culture is an invaluable heritage not only for us but for the whole world.
  • We should not forget the ‘Cleanliness Campaign’. We should intensify the campaign against single use plastic. The ‘Vocal for Local’ mantra is our responsibility. We have to work wholeheartedly for the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
  • With the efforts of all of us, the country will touch new heights of development.
