Four killed after being hit by workers’ car in Karimnagar

The speeding car rammed into the labourers, killing four women and injuring three others seriously, the sources said.

Four women were killed and three others were injured when a speeding car rammed into the divider of a group of laborers sitting on the pavement on the main road near Kaman Junction in Karimnagar town this morning.

The speeding car rammed into the labourers, killing four women and injuring three others seriously, the sources said.

The deceased have been identified as Sunita, Lalita and Jyoti. The exact identity of another deceased could not be immediately ascertained.

The driver and other occupants of the car fled the spot soon after the horrific accident. It is suspected that the driver of the car was in an inebriated state at the time of the accident.

There are several traffic challans pending on the car for various traffic violations including over-speeding and dangerous driving.

One Town Police rushed the injured to the district headquarters hospital. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.

Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased coming from poor families staged a sit-in near the accident site demanding justice to the bereaved families of the victims of the horrific accident.
