Thiruvananthapuram:

The Left Front won 24 of the 42 wards in Kerala’s 12 districts where by-polls were held recently, a result that will boost its confidence in the by-elections to the Thrikkakara assembly constituency, which is due in the end. of this month.

Apart from the Left Front, the BJP-led NDA also has reason to rejoice as it won six wards in the local body bypolls, the results of which were declared on Wednesday.

Reacting to the results, BJP state president K Surendran told reporters that it was a significant result for the party in the by-election in Trikkakara constituency.

He said that three of the six wards won by the BJP are in the neighboring constituencies of Trikkakara, which reflects the mindset of the people of that area.

The Congress-led UDF, on the other hand, lost in the eight wards it held earlier. However, out of the 42 wards where by-elections were held, it won 12.
