Customs destroys drugs worth Rs 2,500 cr in Navi Mumbai

Mumbai Customs has destroyed a large quantity of high value drugs at a facility in Navi Mumbai. About 269 kg of narcotics and psychotropic substances worth about Rs 2,500 crore were destroyed in the said facility on Wednesday.

Destroyed drugs include 191.60 kg heroin, 65.20 kg mephedrone, 10.02 kg ketamine and 1.86 kg phenyl propanolamine, which were disposed of in the presence of Drugs Disposal Committee (DDC) comprising senior officials of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Customs. DRI), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Police Department.
