CWG 2022: Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen wins gold in the 48-50 kg flyweight category

India on Sunday won its third gold medal in boxing at the Commonwealth Games 2022, with India’s Nikhat Zareen defeating Carly MC Naul of Northern Ireland to win another gold for the country.

earlier today boxers Neetu Ghangas and Amit Panghal also won gold medals for the country in their respective categories.

Nikhat aggressively attacked MC Naul who seemed unresponsive for minutes. During the second round, Nikhat MC allowed Naul to go after him, but he retaliated to make it look like a pre-conceived strategy.

Nikhat Zareen is a world champion boxer and the way she fights reflects her passion for the sport. Like Neetu Ghangwas, Nikhat also won 5-0 unanimously.

With Nikhat’s gold, India has won 17 gold so far and the medal tally has reached 48.

Medal in women’s hockey after 16 years

India’s women’s hockey team also created history by winning a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games by defeating New Zealand in a tie-breaker match. It was the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games when India won a medal in the women’s sport.

India lost to australia 3-0 in a controversial penalty shootout in the hockey semi-finals.
