Delhi Police registers FIR against Owaisi, Yeti Narasimhanand for alleged hate speech

The Delhi Police on Thursday registered an FIR against All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi and Dasna Devi temple priest Yeti Narasimhanand for their alleged inflammatory remarks. Action was taken to curb lies and misinformation on social media. The IFSC unit of the Delhi Police registered cases against several persons under various provisions for spreading hate messages, inciting groups and creating an atmosphere injurious to maintenance of public peace.

The development comes amid a controversy surrounding the suspension of BJP leader Nupur Sharma for allegedly making controversial religious remarks in a TV debate.
