The United Doctors Front Association has written a letter to the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya demanding the postponement of the NEET PG-2023 exam to be held on March 5 for two-three months.

The doctors’ body has also sought revision of the new internship cut-off date, saying that many interns are still ineligible.

The Union Health Ministry had on January 13 extended the MBBS internship cut-off date to June 30. Earlier, the cut-off date for candidates to complete one year of compulsory internship was March 31, 2023.

The doctors’ association said medical students are in a state of turmoil and are unable to concentrate on their studies due to major issues related to the prematurely scheduled date for NEET PG-2023.

“Sir, as per NBEMS revised internship eligibility criteria for NEET PG-2023, the date of completion of internship i.e. 30th June does not justify the criteria for the ongoing internship batch. The letter dated January 18 states that around 10,000 interns from several states are ineligible for NEET PG-2023 even after the amendment.

“Recently, NEET-PG 2022 Special Stray Round counseling was conducted on January 10. Many candidates of NEET-PG were busy in attending the counselling. So NEET-PG Contenders/Candidates are getting less time to prepare for the upcoming exam which is going to be held on 5th March.

“Therefore we request you to kindly look into the above matter on an urgent basis and re-revise the internship eligibility criteria for ineligible interns and NEET PG-2022 candidates by postponing NEET PG-2023 for a minimum period of two-three months Provide justice by doing To make them eligible for NEET PG-2023,” read the letter.
