Brand new Bicycle With its 21″ front wheel and 18″ rear wheel, will offer an intense off-road attitude and be able to drive Desert Dunes, narrow off-road roads, gravel roads and mountain turns.
The new DesertX will be powered by a 937 cc liquid-cooled Testastretta 11 degree desmodromic valvetrain engine producing 110 hp at 9,250 rpm and maximum torque of 92 Nm at 6,500 rpm* in Euro5 configuration. It will also be equipped with a compact 8-disc clutch and gearbox equipped with a geardrum mounted on the bearings to reduce friction and 1.7 kg less engine weight than the previous variant.
The DesertX will have a fuel tank of over 21 liters with an 8-litre second tank (available as an accessory) in the rear. The bike also offers a load capacity of 120 liters of volume.
The DesertX’s design is based on enduro motorcycles from the 80s and has been built by Ducati Centro Styling with standards of sturdiness and sturdiness.
With 3 visible macro elements – a unique volume consisting of tank and side shields, saddle and windshield that embodies the distinctive double headlight, this new Ducati features a new steel trellis frame long travel suspension with dedicated settings.
With 202 kg (dry weight) the DesertX will be an easy bike to ride with the ability to absorb road bumps. It will come equipped with 46mm diameter suspension, inverted Kayaba fork with 230mm of travel and Kayaba monoshock, 250mm ground. Clearance for more extreme off-road adventures. It will feature Brembo M50 monoblock radial calipers with four 30 mm diameter pistons, axial pump with adjustable levers and double 320 mm discs with aluminum flanges and a 265 mm diameter disc at the rear.
Along with original equipment tyres, the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR, 90/90-21 and 150/70 R18 DesertX will also be able to fit both off- and on-road-oriented tyres. It will offer the best in stand-up riding with the saddle-footrest-handlebar triangle
The New DesertX comes in a combination of 6 riding modes along with 4 power modes – Full, High, Medium, Low, which modify the power and responsiveness of the Testastretta engine. It also gets new exclusive settings for the enduro riding mode and comes with a new rally riding mode, which is full engine power and reduced electronic controls, and the pre-existing Sport, Touring, Urban and Wet modes.
The DesertX comes with a vertically oriented dashboard and a high resolution 5” full-TFT color display that provides clear information in stand-up riding. With standard info modes to choose from: Standard and Rally.
Other technical features include double front headlight with twin-function poly-ellipsoidal module with Daytime Running Light (DRL), which ensures visibility, especially important for a motorcycle capable of traveling in all conditions, Ducati brakes Rear light with light. Riders can also customize the bike with rally saddle, additional 8-l tank, aluminum
Side panniers, additional LED spotlights, central stand and heated grips and Termignoni exhausts are also available, both homologated and racing.
