The teachers in the letter also claimed that Ragi has stopped the investigation being carried out against the headmaster Dagar, who has been accused of misappropriating library funds on a large scale.

Several teachers of Delhi University’s College of Vocational Studies have written to President Draupadi Murmu, alleging “widespread corruption” in the college. In their letter, the teachers demanded action against Principal Indrajit Dagar and the chairman of the college’s governing body, Professor Sangeet Ragi, claiming that the two were “working in tandem to cover up acts of financial corruption”.

While Dagar did not respond to calls and messages from PTI, Ragi termed the allegations against him as “baseless” and said that investigation into the matter is still underway.

In the letter, the teachers also claimed that Ragi has stopped the investigation being conducted against Principal Dagar, who has been accused of misappropriation of library funds on a large scale.

The governing body, headed by Professor BC Tripathi, ordered an inquiry into the matter. The teachers claimed that a committee headed by retired Justice Dhingra was constituted, which in its report recommended exemplary action against the principal and other accused.

Dagar was sent on compulsory leave on January 7 last year pending final investigation. Professor Sangeet Ragi was appointed in place of the Chairman of the College Governing Body on March 3, after the completion of Rajan Chopra’s tenure.

Ragi left no stone unturned to reinstate and rehabilitate Dr. Indrajit Dagar, the Principal on leave. They have not given any charge sheet to Dagar till date.

“They reinstated Dr. Indrajit Dagar by saying that ‘forced discharge’ is not part of the service rules, based on the ‘legal opinion’ prepared by the counsel appointed by Prof. Ragi,” the letter said. “

“As the undersigned demands against Dr. Dagar and the removal of Dr. Ragi, both are working in tandem to cover up acts of financial corruption. Professor Ragi’s tenure ended on March 3 but he joined 110 teachers on March 13. A meeting is being held to discuss the appointment of

Rejecting the allegations, Ragi said, “These are false allegations by teachers who have nothing to do with teaching and are more into activism. The investigation of the matter is still going on. I have asked the lawyer to prepare the charge sheet. On the allegation that Dagar and he are working in tandem, Ragi said, “He is not my relative. He was reinstated by Delhi University Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh, not me.”
