The Election Commission of India (EC) on 3 October announced by-elections for seven vacant assembly seats in six states to be held in November.

As per the schedule released by the Election Commission, the polling will be held on November 3 and the counting of votes will take place on November 6. By-elections to be held in Maharashtra’s Andheri East; Mokama and Gopalganj in Bihar; Adampur in Haryana; Munogode in Telangana; Gola Gokarnath in Uttar Pradesh and Dhamnagar in Odisha.

As per the schedule, the notification for the by-election will be issued on Friday and the last date for nomination will be October 14. The date of scrutiny of nominations and the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be October 15 and October 17, respectively.
