‘Eligible’ TET candidates protest demanding appointment in schools – Times of India

Kolkata: Hundreds of candidates claiming to give clarification teacher eligibility test (TET) 2014 held a sit-in outside the office on Monday West Bengal Board of Primary Education Demanded in Salt Lake that he should be given a job appointment letter immediately. The agitators said they had appeared for two interviews after passing the written test. TET 2014 ExamBut did not get the job through its panel, which is finished as per the board.
Stating that they do not want to appear in a new examination announced by the government for this year, the candidates demanded that they be appointed as teachers. West Bengal Government sponsored and aided schools as per previous merit list.
The protesters initially blocked the road at busy Karunamayi intersection during the day and then went to the office of the Board of Primary Education, which is located nearby.
He refused to end the dharna even after persuading the police.
A woman candidate participating in the protest said, “Already passed all rounds in 2014, why should we sit for another exam.”
Manik Bhattacharya, former chairman of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, who is also a ruling Trinamool Congress MLA, was arrested Enforcement Directorate (ED) in respect of alleged irregularities in the recruitment process of primary teachers in the State on October 11.
Bhattacharya was removed from the post of chairman on an order of the Calcutta High Court, before which several petitions were filed alleging corruption in the recruitment process of teachers in state-sponsored and aided schools.
