Gujarati cuisine is known for its rich and flavourful dishes, most of which have a sweet flavour. It is primarily vegetarian food, but it offers a wide variety of options. The Gujarati thali is a perfect example, consisting of dishes like sweet dal and kadhi, freshly made theplas and ending the meal with shrikhand. Gujarati cuisine also offers a range of savory snacks known as farsan, which are characterized by a mix of spicy and sweet flavours. Some popular examples include Dhokla and Khakra. There are many more to discover, such as:

  1. Fafda:
    A carom seed and black pepper-infused fried snack with gram flour (besan) is known as fafda. It is a popular Gujarati vegetarian snack that tastes delicious. It is often taken for breakfast with jalebi but can be a good breakfast option with some spicy pickle.
  2. Gujarati Samosa:
    This popular tea treat is filled with chunky peas that have been roasted with sugar and lemon juice. A spicy snack that is very popular not only in Gujarat but all over the country. It is ideal for a hot cup of tea in the evening or as a snack with tamarind pickle.
  3. Dabeli:
    a very popular street food recipe from gujarat made using indian pav bread and stuffed with a special spice mix of potatoes and pomegranate. This dish resembles Maharashtrian Vada Pav but has a different flavor and taste. Dabeli can be eaten in the morning for breakfast and also in lunch, although they are usually eaten as an evening snack with a cup of tea or coffee.
  4. Masala Puri:
    These crispy puris are made from wheat flour. This dish is preferred by those who like mildly spicy food but cannot tolerate extra spicy snacks.
  5. Chorafali:
    Usually eaten during festivals, this traditional Gujarati snack tastes like papad or chips. One of the tastiest snacks, it has a sour and spicy flavor of chilli powder and dry mango powder.
