Congress leader P Chidambaram on May 14 said the situation at places of worship should not change and it could lead to a bigger conflict, amid controversy over the survey of Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi. The Places of Worship Act was passed by the PV Narasimha Rao government except Ram Janmabhoomi. All other places of worship should remain in status quo. We should not change the status of places of worship, it will lead to a bigger conflict,” said P Chidambaram, leader, Congress.
