Unable to bear the harassment of online loan app organisers, a twenty-four-year-old youth committed suicide at his home in Pasdampadu in the city on Thursday night.

Victims, L. Manikanth, an employee in a petrol bunk, took a loan of ₹13,000 from an online loan app and paid ₹27,000. But, the organizers were reportedly harassing her for giving her more money.

On Thursday, the accused allegedly sent morphed pictures of Manikanth and threatened to forward his nude pictures to his friends, family members and other contacts on his mobile phone.

His family members said that he allegedly committed suicide by hanging and urged the government to take measures to control loan apps in the state.

Patama Circle Inspector Mahinder said that a case under section 174 CrPC (suspicious death) has been registered and investigation is on. The police have seized mobile phones, bank accounts and other information from the family members.
