Hindi Divas 2022: National Hindi Day or Hindi Day is celebrated every year on 14 September in India to promote Hindi as the mother tongue of India. 4. Hindi gets its name from the Persian word ‘Hind’ which means “Land of the Indus River”.

6. On September 14, 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi as the official language of the newly formed nation.
