How to enjoy snacks while keeping calories in check? Nutritionists Explain

Watching your favorite movie on a weekend with a packet of chips or chocolates – sounds relaxing, doesn’t it? Munching snacks is something we all love and can do at any time of the day. But looking at the deliciousness of chocolate cookies and the delicious taste of pistachios, we often lose control and end up eating more than we need. It may sound common but for those who want to lose some weight, getting completely involved with snacks can take you away from your fitness goal.

According to nutritionist Graeme Tomlinson, snacks are meant to be eaten in moderation, in fact, it’s important to pay attention to the portion sizes of your meals. Same goes for your breakfast where you can cut down on the quantity granola And skimmed milk you are taking and reduce the total calories of the food. The nutritionist said this applies to everything from ice cream and protein bars to wine, chips and yogurt.

“If fat loss is the objective, then understanding portion size can be a very useful tool to aid in progress,” he stresses.

The nutritionist explained that it is important to align your eating habits with the science of fat loss to get the desired results. He says that main meals can be structured in such a way that there is no need for heavy snacks and it should also be realized that even small portions can satiate your cravings.

Graeme Tomlinson stresses that understanding your energy is “not obsessive” but “the most enlightened way to educate yourself on the scientific principle behind the connection between your eating behavior and your goal success”.
