Hurriyat Conference disrespected, NIA action on court order

The Hurriyat Conference is a group of 26 organizations.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday attached the Hurriyat Conference office at Rajbagh in Srinagar on the orders of a Delhi court in a terror funding case. Officials gave this information. He said a team of the Federal Investigation Agency pasted Hurriyat’s accidents and attachment notices on the outer wall of the compound on Sunday morning.

The notice said, “All people are informed that the building in Rajbagh where the office of All Party Hurriyat Conference is located and owned by Naeem Ahmad Khan, currently facing certification, has been transferred to Delhi. Attached on the order dated 27 January 2023 of the Special NIA Court at K Patiala House.

The Hurriyat Conference is a group of 26 organizations. It was formed in 1993. The Rajbagh office of the Hurriyat Conference has been closed since August 2019 following the crackdown by the government against human rights organizations. Mirviz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat Conference said the attachment of the group’s office would make people less vocal about their desire for a working solution to Kashmir issues.

In a statement, the organization said, “Those assuming the command and control of Jammu and Kashmir should know that the spirit and desire to see a solution to the Kashmir conflict and to live in peace without fear is inherent in the people of Hai-Kashmir…- Gare buildings People will not be distracted from this feeling by attaching it. They will demand a working solution.”

Hurriyat termed the court’s order as “unbalanced”. It again jailed him and also demanded his nomination papers and nominations.
