“I apologize for firing genius”: Elon Musk’s dig at sacked employees

New Delhi:

Elon Musk has taken a dig at some fired employees a day after publicly punishing Twitter engineers who called him out online. His sarcastic tweet read, “I want to apologize for dismissing these talents. Their immense talent will surely come in great use elsewhere.”

He was responding to a user’s tweet on the firing: “Elon has fired several employees who were critical of him on Twitter and the company’s Slack, per protocol.”

A day earlier, Musk had announced the firing by tweeting in a case. In another, a former employee said she was fired after openly reprimanding the new Twitter boss.

Eric Frohnhofer, an engineer who worked on Twitter’s app for the Android mobile operating system, reposted one of Musk’s tweets on Sunday with a comment that Musk’s understanding of the technical part of Twitter’s app was “wrong.” Musk responded and asked Fraunhofer to elaborate.

After attempting to explain his thinking in a series of tweets, Frohnhofer was asked by another user why he had not shared his response privately with his new boss. The engineer, who has worked at Twitter for more than eight years, replied, “Maybe they should ask questions privately. Maybe use Slack or email.”

On Monday morning, Musk wrote that Fraunhofer had been fired. Fraunhofer retweeted that post, and included a saluting emoji that was used by several employees earlier this month.

Twitter has been descending into chaos since Musk took office last month. He ruthlessly moved into the clean house after he took over the company on October 27, saying the company was losing more than $4 million a day, mainly because advertisers began to flee after he took over. Had done it.
