BCCI Elections: In the whirlwind of upcoming changes in the administration of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), former India cricketer and World Cup winning player Roger Binny is all set to replace Sourav Ganguly as the next. chief. Sources close to the BCCI have confirmed that the former India captain was offered the role of IPL presided but he turned it down.
Sourav Ganguly who completed most of his tenure during the pandemic certainly wanted to continue as BCCI chief but the equations in the cricket body have changed and are definitely not in his favour. An official statement regarding the matter is still pending but Ganguly has confirmed that he has decided to take on other responsibilities outside the BCCI. Addressing reporters at an event of Bandhan Bank, Ganguly reacted to the entire furore.

The former India captain said:
I’ve been an administrator for a long time and now I’ll move on to something else. No matter what I have done in life, my best days were definitely the ones in which I represented India at the highest level. I have led the BCCI and I will continue to do great things. That is the plan for the time being. I am not someone who takes history into account, there was a perception that the former lacked the talent to play at the highest level, but the scenario is slowly changing. You don’t become Ambani or Narendra Modi in a day, it takes years of hard work and dedication.
Former India player Roger Binny is all set to take over the reins of BCCI. He has already filed his nomination papers and is likely to remain unopposed. Jay Shah will continue to serve as the BCCI Secretary.
