Watch: Elephant Crossing Road Dodge Two Wheeler Dodge In Close Call

Cases of human-animal conflict are coming to the fore on social media, which are proving to be worrying. Indian Forest Service officer Sushant Nanda often shares videos, in which people get too close for the animals to rest in their natural habitat in the wild. The consequences are often internet-related for both people and animals because they do not bode well for either group. Nanda shared a video on Twitter in which a man can be seen riding a two-wheeler when an elephant starts crossing the road.

It ends as a close call, as the driver drives the vehicle away at the last minute, and the elephant manages to go unpunished. While many were worried, others were relieved for both sides. A Twitter commenter also praised the driver for his calmness. News18 could not independently establish the identity of the driver or the location of the incident.

In an incident from last year, which shows what would have happened if things had gone south, a government bus in the Nilgiris of Tamil Nadu was attacked by a smuggler. The viral video was shared by Supriya Sahu, Principal Secretary, Environment, Climate Change and Forests, Tamil Nadu. In the video, a furious elephant charges towards the bus and smashes the windshield.

The driver tried to engage reverse gear to avert the attack. After a few seconds, the driver gets up from his seat and draws the elephant’s attention to himself, giving the passengers a chance to disembark safely.
