ICAR AIEEA UG 2023 to be replaced by CUET for admission in agricultural universities

While CUET UG has replaced the entrance exam for undergraduate courses, ICAR-AIEEA (PG) 2023 and ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D.)-2023 will continue to be conducted separately by the NTA.

Admission to undergraduate degree programs offered by various agricultural universities under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for the academic year 2023-24 will be done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG. CUET will replace the All India Entrance Examination (AIEEA) for UG ICAR- admission.

The official notice states, “It has now been decided by ICAR that admission to specified UG courses hitherto being done through ICAR-AIEEA for the academic year 2023-24 through Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG will be done through. Released by the National Testing Agency on its website.

By 2022, admission to undergraduate degree programs in agriculture and allied sciences (other than veterinary science) to 20 per cent seats in Agricultural University (RLBCAU Jhansi, NDRI Karnal, IARI New Delhi and 100 per cent seats in DR RPCAU Pusa, Bihar), Conducted by NTA through AIEEA.

While CUET UG has replaced the entrance exam for undergraduate courses, ICAR-AIEEA (PG) 2023 and ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D.)-2023 will continue to be conducted separately by the NTA.

CUET UG was introduced last year as a common entrance test for admission to various undergraduate programs offered by Central Universities and other participating institutions. As the Common Entrance Test gears up for the second year, the NTA has increased the number of subjects that candidates can choose from. Now, instead of nine subjects to choose from last year, this year, candidates can choose 10 subjects including language.

The registration fee has also been increased by NTA based on the number of subjects opted by the candidate. Last year, general category students who opted for four subjects had to pay a registration fee of Rs 650. However, this year the fee for three subjects has been increased to Rs 750.

The application process for this year’s exam began on February 9 and will end on March 12. The application correction window will open on March 15. The entrance test will be conducted from May 21 to May 31. NTA has increased the number of examination centers for this. This year CUET UG. The exam will be conducted across 547 cities in India and 24 overseas cities.
