Biologicals E Ltd’s Corbevax has become India’s first COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) as a heterogeneous COVID-19 booster dose. This means that adults who are fully vaccinated with Covishield or Covaxin can take Corbevax as their third or booster shot.
A Corbevax booster may be given six months after the second dose of the vaccine.
Till now, the booster dose was essentially the same vaccine given in the first and second shots.
