India ready to extend support to Turkish people: MoS Muraleedharan

Muraleedharan made the remarks at Ghaziabad’s Hindon airbase from where an Indian Air Force C17 Globemaster aircraft flew to Turkey with medical equipment, ration and relief equipment as part of the ongoing ‘Operation Dost’.

Talking to ANI, muralidharan It said four teams are working on the ground in Turkey, including two rescue teams, dog squads and two medical teams. He said that India has already opened a field hospital in Turkey.

Muraleedharan said, “India has already sent four teams including two rescue teams of NDRF and two teams for medical assistance. Today the third team of NDRF is leaving for Turkey with dog squad, medicines, blankets, four wheelers Is.”

he adds, “India is ready to support To the people of Turkey in this hour of grief. India has always come forward to help people around the world and humanitarian aid has been provided to various countries across the world. So this is another such example.”

Muraleedharan said that India stands with the people of Turkey. He said India will assess the situation and provide any further assistance if required.

“We stand with the people of turkey And we expect that if any further assistance is required, we will assess the same and take necessary action. So the medical team of the armed forces is already there,” Muraleedharan said.

Speaking on PM Modi’s instructions regarding the assistance given by India, he said, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi had yesterday directed all the concerned authorities to take necessary steps to provide assistance to the people affected by the earthquake in Turkey. ‘ Have personally expressed their anguish over the incidents. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar has spoken to his counterparts.”

Talking about his meeting with Turkish Ambassador to India Farat Sunel, Muraleedharan said he conveyed PM Narendra Modi’s condolence message and offered India’s support to the Turkish people.

Muraleedharan said Turkey’s ambassador to India described India as a “true friend” as it is helping Turkey in the need of the hour. Talking about the name of the operation, Muraleedharan said, “The Turkish ambassador has said that a friend is called ‘dost’ in Turkish language. He said that people who come forward in these dire circumstances are called friends. That’s why the operation is called Dost.” ,

Speaking to ANI, “The Turkish Ambassador to India told me personally that India is the first nation which has come forward with a large amount of relief material. Turkish Ambassador said that India is a true friend of India.”

He further said, ‘PM Modi has given the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam One World, One Family, One Future regarding India’s G20 presidency. We are implementing this message.

Appreciating the Armed Forces, Indian Air Force and NDRF for their efforts in the rescue operation, he said, “I would like to congratulate the Armed Forces, Indian Air Force and NDRF who have come to the rescue for being a part of the rescue operation.”

Meanwhile, Turkish Ambassador to India Firat Sunel, who was also present at Ghaziabad’s Hindon airbase, termed Operation Dost a “very important operation”. He said that Operation Dost reflects the friendship between India and Turkey.

Speaking to ANI, Firat Sunel said, “Operation Dost is a very important operation. And it is an operation of friendship because Dost is a Hindi and Turkish word which means friend. And this operation is between India and Turkey and friends.” The middle represents our friendship. Help each other.”

He continued, “I remember two years ago in 2021, I was on this exact same airplane and Turkey sent two planes loaded with COVID medical aid.
