India restores e-tourist visa which was suspended since March 2020

According to officials, India on Wednesday reinstated the five-year e-tourist visas suspended from March 2020 for citizens of 156 countries with immediate effect.

In addition, the Indian government has also announced that they will restore the old valid long term (10 years) regular (paper) tourist visas for citizens of the US and Japan with immediate effect.

For foreigners who want to come here by chartered flight or air bubble flight, the tourist visa facility was partially restored from October last year.

Regular international flights can operate with 100% capacity after services resume on March 27. The government had announced the removal of capacity restrictions on international flights, as various stakeholders including the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) prepared a summer schedule for international flights for 2022.
