PM Modi in Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched Digital India Bhashini, Digital India Genesis, Chips to Startup (C2S) program at Digital India Week 2022 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Prime Minister also launched http://IndiaStack.GlobalMyScheme, ‘Meri Pehchaan – National Single Sign-on’ in Gandhinagar.

Speaking at the event, PM Modi said, “Today, India is working on a target of taking electronics manufacturing to over $300 billion in the next three-four years. India wants to be a chip maker from a chip taker. “Investment is increasing. Rapidly in India to increase production of semiconductors.”

“Be it space, mapping, drones, gaming and animation, many sectors that are going to expand the future of digital technology have been opened up for innovation. Provisions like IN-SPACe and the new Drone Policy India Will be implemented in the coming years. This decade will give new energy to the technological capability.”

“Fintech endeavor is really a solution by the people, for the people, for the people. In this the technology is India’s own i.e. by the people, the countrymen have made it a part of their life and it has transacted for the countrymen. Easy means for the people,” the Prime Minister said.

India has ended queues by going online: PM Modi

Praising the role of digital technology in transforming the lives of the people of the country, PM Modi said that India has eliminated the queues by going online to provide various services.

With the changing times, if India does not adopt new technology, then it will remain backward.

The country experienced this during the Third Industrial Revolution, Modi said while addressing a gathering after the inauguration of Digital India Week 2022.

“Eight to 10 years ago, we had to stand in lines for everything. We had to get birth certificates, to pay bills, for ration, for admission, for exam results, for proofs. For letters, one had to stand in line at banks. How many of us used to stand in lines? India has eliminated all lines by going online,” he said.

Modi said in the program that the central government’s flagship program Digital India has given relief to the poor from corruption and it is working to eliminate middlemen in all sectors.
