The firm said that on an average over 15 lakh specific taxpayers have entered the portal so far in September and more than 1.5 crore returns have been filed so far. It added that more than 750 resources have been dedicated to ‘completing a significant portion of the work’ in collaboration with the Income Tax Department.

“Till now, over 3 crore taxpayers have logged into the portal and completed various transactions successfully. Even as the portal makes steady progress with crores of taxpayers successfully transacting, the company acknowledges the difficulties that some users continue to experience and calls to further streamline the end-user experience. Working expeditiously in collaboration with Income Tax Department,” Infosys said.

Stating that it recognizes the “ongoing challenges being faced by some users” and has directly engaged with over 1,200 taxpayers to better understand their concerns, Infosys said it is working to resolve these challenges expeditiously. is focused on. The IT Portal team is also working with the Chartered Accountants community to ensure that a comprehensive set of user scenarios are supported and fully tested prior to deployment.

Taxpayer services such as digital signature, e-proceeding, and response to notices and demands have now been enabled on the portal, along with functionalities related to legal heirs, the company said. These challenges were flagged by the accounting community last week.

More than 16.6 lakh e-PANs have been allotted, 4.3 lakh digital signatures have been registered and more than 3.44 lakh e-action responses to notices have now been completed.

Before sharing some data on the nature of the completed transactions, the statement said, “Infosys is proud to partner with the Government of India and partner with various departments to accelerate the digital development of the country’s technology capabilities. continues to work together.”

“More than 85% of the taxpayers who have filed their returns have also completed their e-verification, mainly through Aadhaar OTP authentication.
