Chennai Super Kings are upset over the availability of their England all-rounder Moeen Ali for the opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on March 26. Moeen Ali’s India visa is yet to be cleared and the England star is yet to leave. India will join Chennai Super Kings

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told India Today that the franchise is not sure why Moin’s visa approval is getting delayed, but expressed confidence that the issue will be resolved soon.

“We spoke to him about the issue and he is hoping that the matter will be resolved soon. All the necessary documents have been done, but don’t know why his visa has not been approved. As soon as he will get his visa, He will fly to India and join the team,” Viswanathan said.

CSK will start their campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. CSK players are training in Surat before the new season. While MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu started training earlier this month, other domestic stars and foreign players have started pouring in.

Moeen Ali will have to stay in Quarantine for 3 days upon arrival in India. He is not a part of England’s Test team which is currently touring West Indies after retiring from the longest format of the game.

Indian and foreign players have also been allowed to do bubble to bubble transfers. Rohit Sharma and members of his Test team join their respective IPL teams via bubble to bubble transfer after completing the pink ball Test in Bengaluru.
