Our dear mothers, dieticians and health experts have emphasized on the role of vegetables over the years. But did you know that apart from adding color to our plates and providing us with all the nutrition, vegetables can also be used for music? Industrialist Anand Mahindra Recently shared a video of a musician, who transforms carrots into shehnai. The video, shared on Saturday, features an Australian musician, identified as Lynsey Pollack. Pollack showed his creativity by making a big hole in a carrot. On the sides, he made six holes at an equal distance from each other. Next, he peeled off the top layer to make it resemble a sharp, cylindrical shape. Pollack put a white funnel on the bottom and a saxophone mouthpiece on top. And, voila the shehnai is ready.

This may be new to the western world but not to us. There is a famous old saying in Marathi, “Gajarachi pungi, vajli tar vajli, ahantar mudoon khalli”, literally meaning make a carrot nose flute, if it performs well, just pluck it and eat it. ????— jwbhabal ???????? (@jwbhabal) March 5, 2023
Another said, “Apart from being a delicious and healthy food, I didn’t know carrots could also be used as a musical instrument. It’s a great way to stay motivated and energized.”
